Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked ham (diced, or ham bone for extra flavor)
  • cups dried white beans (navy or cannellini, soaked overnight)
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 2 carrots (sliced)
  • 2 celery stalks (chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 6 cups chicken broth (or water + bouillon)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tbsp thyme
  • Salt & black pepper (to taste)
  • Optional Add-Ins:
  • 1 potato (diced for extra heartiness)
  • 1/2 tbsp smoked paprika (for deeper flavor)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • A splash of cream (for a creamy version)

Method
 

  1. Sauté veggies
  2. add beans, ham & broth
  3. simmer until tender
  4. season & serve.
