Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup ice-cold water
  • 1 large egg
  • 1//2 tbsp salt
  • Flavorful add-ins (choose one variation): Haemul Pajeon: scallions, shrimp, squid or Kimchi Jeon: well-fermented kimchi, diced onion or Vegetable Jeon: scallions, julienned carrots, zucchini, peppers

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, whisk flour, salt, egg, and ice-cold water until smooth.
  2. Prepare add-ins by chopping vegetables or seafood.
  3. Fold add-ins into the batter.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and lightly oil.
  5. our batter into the pan, spreading evenly.
  6. Fry 3–4 minutes until edges crisp, then flip and cook another 2–3 minutes.
  7. Serve hot with dipping sauce (soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil).

This crispy Korean pancake (Jeon) is perfect as a snack, appetizer, or side dish. Try Haemul Pajeon with seafood, Kimchi Jeon for a tangy kick, or Vegetable Jeon for a light, colorful option. Use ice-cold water for a perfectly crispy texture every time!
