  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional)
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1//4 tbsp salt
  • Butter for frying
  • orange zest, nutmeg, maple syrup (optional)

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, heavy cream (if using), cinnamon, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt butter.
  3. Dip each slice of sourdough into the custard mixture, coating both sides (don’t oversoak).
  4. Place in the hot skillet and cook 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. Serve warm with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit.
